Monastery of the Holy Eucharist (Simala Church)

The monastery sits atop a hill in Simala, Sibonga, Cebu and is home to Our Lady of Lindogon. Various accounts say that the lady’s image originally came from Pampanga and was given to the Marian Monks after the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. The monks then brought the lady’s image to Simala but locals weren’t very accommodating at first until the Virgin Mary said to have interceded last 1998 and started an epidemic that claimed the lives of several local children 😵😵

I was lucky enough to get married before the pandemic. I got married in St. Ann Parish, Molo. This church was the only Church Jose rizal visited and more than 200 years old! Yet here it is so grand and with the longest aisle in Panay ✨ The joke is, half way of the walk down the aisle? You can still exit the side door because you still have enough time to think it over hahaha. Here are some photos of that happy day!
