Founded by the late poet and activist Raul Salinas, Resistencia is one of the longest-running bookstores in the Southwest dedicated to celebrating Native American, Chicano, Latino, and African-American book communities. The charming space is treated like a neighborhood institution, despite various challenges such as financial struggles and waves of gentrification. Their selections are enough to warrant a visit, and you’ll find plenty of feminist, queer, and bilingual literature with just one look at their shelves.
