Roxas City, Philippines • Recommendation •

Tanke Saltwater Lake or Lagoon is one of the most popular destinations in Carles, Iloilo. It's part of the day tour around Isla de Gigantes. It's a natural saltwater pool in a hidden spot, surrounded by huge rock formations. For your to get inside, you have to secure a pass. They only allowed 15-minute stay inside to avoid getting crowded especially during summer. Other things that are prohibited inside are feeding of monkeys, leaving garbages, smoking, eating, and defecating.

Roxas City, Philippines • Memory •

Cabugao Gamay is considered as the face of Isla de Gigantes. Whenever you search this, you will see a lot of photos in here that's why it's very popular to a lot of tourist. This place is always featured in social media and magazines coz it's indeed, beautiful. I've been dreaming of going here since forever coz they said it's affordable and scallops are very abundant. Yes, that's true! Scallops cost here P1 per piece or P100 per tabo. It's always fresh from the sea, as well. Cabugao Gamay is consists of rock hills with greens. It's really hot in here because there are only a few trees on the island as shed. But visiting this place is very worth it!,

Gigantes Lighthouse

Roxas City, Philippines • Memory •

Gigantes Lighthouse is part of our day tour inside the island of North Gigantes. We rode a motorcycle to reach this place which is quite popular in the area. The original lighthouse was built around Spanish time but when we got there, some parts were renovated. The area is small and a little old. We used our drone to capture the whole scenic view of the lighthouse.

Bantigue Islet

Roxas City, Philippines • Memory •

Bantigue Islet is also popular in Isla de Gigantes tour coz of it's sandbar. Unlike others, the color of the sand here is brownish which is composed of sand, small stones, and dead corals. We went here in the afternoon and it was so hot. I suggest going here early or late afternoon is best coz it isn't that hot. Here also, they are selling live scallops for only P100 per dipper. We bought 3kgs and brought it home. Definitely, I missed that experience.

Bakwitan Cave

Roxas City, Philippines • Memory •

Trivia: Do you know why it's called Bakwitan Cave? It's because this cave served as one of the shelters of the locals whenever there were huge typhoons or pirate attacks during the Spanish times. Bakwitan Cave was part of our day tour at North Gigantes. The be able to reach the cave, we climbed for about 30 minutes. It was tiring though. Inside, there were rock formations and stalactites/stalagmites but they said that they were decades ago and some of them were already dead.
