The Bloemendaal aan Zee beach in Amsterdam is a bustling spot where you can try surfing or windsurfing. The water was freezing even though it was the middle of summertime when we visited. The sandy shore stretches for miles and one portion is even dedicated as a nude beach but we were unable to find that specific area.

With its maze of criss-crossing canals, it is no wonder Amsterdam has so many picturesque bridges adding to its lovely cityscape. The many canals and waterways make bridges a necessity, but that doesn’t mean they are an afterthought. During the day they are beautiful, but at night some are elevated further with dazzling illumination adding to the charm.
