A Montenegro holiday means embracing the great outdoors. Bask in crystal-clear waters and let European seaside-scenery surprise you.
Podgorica
Another country On my bucket list. Note to self: Here are some places to visit when in Montenegro.
It's a fortified medieval town. It's a beautiful town with impressive an impressive landscape as its backdrop. I could spend hours roaming around the street and getting lost here. The town is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kotor is also famous for its love of cats! You can see them roam around the streets. There's even a cat museum here. Souvenir shops even sell a lot of cat things here! 😸
Kotor, Montenegro
The monastery was built against a rock. It has a lower section and an upper section. The Holy Trinity Church is located at the lower section where you can see beautiful and vivid frescos. The Church of Presentations is located at the upper monastery is where you can see the relics of Saint Basil of Ostrog. You can also find frescos here but it is faded— impressive still! Note: There is a strict dress code, especially if you want to go up to the upper section. Credits to the owner of the Photos.
Montenegro
This would be a great place to soak up some nature 🍃🍃. The vivid blue waters and the lush forest would be an amazing thing to see!
Crno Jezero, Montenegro
This is a beautiful church with many architectural influence from the romanesque, Italianate, and Byzantine period. The interior is just as amazing as the exterior! The church's colorful frescos are vivid and colourful. I could spend hours admiring it!
Podgorica, Montenegro
A place to visit for history lovers. Here you can see the ruins of the Bar Fortress and the aqueduct. The streets leading up to the fortress is beautiful. Would be nice to roam around the streets of the old town, where you can see a lot of Turkish influence. Photo credits to the owners. Fortress and Aqueduct 📸: Raymond Zoller & Aleksandr Zykov
Stari Bar, Montenegro
This looks like a nice and cozy restaurant to try out some local cuisine when in Bar. Apart from local cuisines, they offer Mediterranean and Turkish dishes as well. They also offer vegetarian options. The outside seating looks cozy, would go here for the food and the ambiance.
Ulica 9. Januar, Stari Bar 85000, Montenegro
A five star restaurant with a view! It's located along the Bay of Kotor. They offer outside seating, so you can eat delicious food while admiring the view. They offer traditional and modern cuisines. I would definitely go for the outside seating!
Šuranj bb, Kotor 85330, Montenegro
The oldest restaurant in Montenegro, this would be a charming place to have some casual food. They serve traditional cuisine here mainly seafood but they do offer some meat dishes as well.
Trg od Salate, Old Town, Bay of Kotor, 85330, Kotor 85330, Montenegro
Conveniently located within Kotor, this would be a good hotel to stay if on a budget trip. The building is a 600 year old stone house owned by a Montenegrin noble. The rooms are decorated in antique styled furniture to go with the palazzo vibe.
Stari grad 484, Kotor 85339, Kotor, Montenegro
Located in Podgorica, this is another hotel that won't break the bank. The rooms are decorated with a mix of modern and antique style. Five star ambiance with a fraction of the cost! Photo credits to Hotel Hemera
